From the year 2002, and taking Holy Week cycles as the main point in its performances, the Coro de Cámara “Mateo Guerra” has offered a variety of programmes of different styles such as Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Liszt’s Via Crucis, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Walzer, Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms, Fauré’s Réquiem in original version, Bach’s cantatas (Actus Tragicus, among them), as well as works by Schubert, Tavener, Schnittke, Duruflé, Messiaen, Rutter, etc. The Coro de Cámara usually collaborates with the Auditorium Alfredo Kraus in cycles such as Canary Islands Young Performers in 2003 with works by Pachelbel, B. Marcello, Janácek, Rodolfo Halffter, Prieto and Rossini, and in 2004 the Chamber Choir was invited to participate in the opening of the Cycle of Organ Music with organist Volodimir Kotenko performing works by Bach, Mozart, Liszt, Kodály and Fauré.
The Coro de Cámara “Mateo Guerra” has participated also in the honors and distinctions awarding ceremony of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, as well as the official opening of the Year Luján Pérez in Guía and cultural events related with the hundredth anniversary of the Bajada de
Over the last years, the repertoire of the Coro de Cámara “Mateo Guerra” encompasses also lyric works, offering a selection of Orfeo ed Euridice by Gluck in the theatre CICCA, Dido and Aeneas by Purcell in co-production with the Gabinete Literario and their debut on stage with Così fan tutte in the Teatro Pérez Galdós conducted by Iván Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra.
In the Holy Week cycle Semana Santa Musical Gran Canaria 2009, the Chamber Choir offered a programme called Wagner en chanclas containing a selection of transcriptions, fantasies and readings related to the German composer. After this concert, the Chamber Choir was invited to repeat the same programme in the “Aula Wagner” of the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
